Iris Sue (Johnson) Fleming

Mrs. Iris Sue Fleming age 65 of Pekin passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany.
Mrs. Fleming was born August 15, 1948 in Jackhorn, Kentucky the daughter of Hassel and Hattie Slone Johnson. She was a retired physical therapy assistant for Floyd Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Pekin Church of Christ. She was a former member of the Sweet Adelines. She enjoyed working the SAG Stop for the Pekin Safari Bike Ride where many people got to experience her fine country cooking and family atmosphere.
She is survived by her husband: Leroy Fleming. They were married August 3, 1963. She is also survived by two sons: Aaron Fleming (Stacey) of Pekin and Ashley Ryan (Ashley Kim) Fleming of Sellersburg, three daughters: Lori Soydemir (Kemal) and Tylene Jarrells both of Pekin and Carol Wainscott (Kenneth) of Salem, a brother: Johnny Johnson of Jackhorn, Kentucky, 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchildren.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Michael Johnson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Pekin. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8PM and Tuesday from 9AM-time of service.
