Mr. Hulen Gholson age 93 of Salem passed away Sunday, March 10 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Gholson was born December 5, 1919 in Wayne County, Kentucky the son of Joseph Shad and Rebekah Louann Hardwick Gholson. He was a retired farmer. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of Westview Christian Church and Salem Senior Citizens.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Delpha Dean Hammond Gholson. He then married Bettina Marshall Davis Gholson and she also preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 5 sisters and his parents.
He is survived by his wfie: Olga Williams Gholson, a son: Lester J. Gholson (Jewell) of Salem, two daughters: Alma Jean Hardy( Robert L.) of Salem and Jill Ann Albertson (Hack) of Pekin, five step-daughters: Judith Brook (Larry) of Atlanta, Dr. Teresa Williams of Springfield, Tennessee, Donna Boling (Larry) of Salem, Anita Curtis (David) of Sacramento, California and Paula Johnson( Steve) of Little York, a brother: Joe Gholson of Amherst, Ohio, a sister: Linda Campbell of Greenwood, nine grandchildren: Jeffrey Les Gholson (K-Lynn), Andy Joe Gholson (Deanna), Keith Alan Gholson, Jeanna Lea Jones (Craig), Jodi Lyn Wheeler, Nicole DeAn Griffin (David), Nathan Paul Killey, Sara Albertson and Sheldon Albertson, 7 step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30AM at Westview Christian Church. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8PM at Weathers Funeral Home and Thursday from 10AM-time of service at the church.
