Howard W. Smith age 87 of Pekin passed away Friday, August 31 at Salem Crossing.
Mr. Smith was born January 3, 1925 in Indianapolis, Indiana the son of Loren R. and Clara G. Naugle Smith. He was the former owner of the Pekin Movie Theater, Coal Yard and Skating Rink. He attended Pekin United Methodist Church. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of VFW, American Legion and Washington County Pilot's Association.
He is survived by his wife: Leota Bowers Smith. They were married August 10, 1947. He is also survived by a daughter: Trudy Calvert of Bloomington, and a step-granddaughter: Stephanie Keyser. He was preceded in death by his son: James F. Smith and his parents.
