Mr. Harold Paul Lewis age 87 of Salem passed away Monday, November 7 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany.
Mr. Lewis was born August 15, 1929 in Nashville, Tennessee the son of Harold Paul Lewis and Amanda Carolyn Hilliard Lewis. He received a Bachelor of Arts from David Lipscomb University in Nashville. He retired as a social worker in California. He also was a preacher and entertained as a clown. He was a member of Salem (High Street) Church of Christ and American Legion and was a Navy veteran.
Harold is survived by his wife: Loretta Green Lewis. They were married March 15, 1953. He is also survived by four sons: David Lewis of Apache Junction, Arizona, Guy Lewis of Las Vegas, Daniel Lewis of California and Christopher Lewis of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, a daughter: Paula Herdt of Salem, 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons: Harold Lewis III and Timothy Lewis, a brother: Robert Lewis, a grandson and his parents.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 3:00PM at Salem (High Street) Church of Christ. Visitation will be Thursday from 1-3 at the church.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donation be made to: High Street Church of Christ Food Bank.
