Mrs. Gladys Evelyn Hardwick age 89 of Salem passed away Tuesday, March 8 at her home.
Mrs. Hardwick was born August 29, 1926 in Monticello, Kentucky the daughter of Elbert and Nona Baker Dick. She was a homemaker and a member of Westside Baptist Church.
On October 24, 1942, she married John Hershel Hardwick. She is survived by two daughters: Imogene “Jeanne” Shinn of Bonita Springs, Florida and Carolyn Hardwick of Salem, grandson: Chris Shinn (Kirsten) of Louisville, great-grandson: Seth Shinn of Louisville, two brothers: Rev. Charles E. Dick (Charlcy) and Rev. H. Kenneth Dick (Mae) both of Monticello, Kentucky, uncle: Vernon Dick of Monticello, brother-in-law: Paul Hardwick of Salem, sister-in-law: Ella Vaught of Eubank, Kentucky, many nieces and nephews, her longtime caregiver: Eugene Hughes and her faithful, little companion: Dusty. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, a sister and her son-in-law.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00AM-time of service.
