Gilbert Floyd Morgan Jr.

Mr. Gilbert Floyd Morgan Jr., age 44, of Salem, passed away Monday, October 24.

Mr. Morgan was born September 25, 1978, in Louisville, Kentucky the son of Gilbert Morgan Sr. and Kathy Cox Morgan.  He was a graduate of Eastern High School, Class of 1997 and an employee of MADD Engineering in Greenville.

Gilbert is survived by his significant other:  Tina Lee Smith of Salem, his parents:  Kathy Morgan of Pleasureville, Kentucky and Gilbert Morgan Sr. (Brenda) of Pendleton, Kentucky, a son:  Trevon Smedley (Victoria Wingler) of Salem, a daughter:  Kaitlyn Shaffer (Gage) of Scottsburg,  three brothers:  Dale Morgan of Salem, Aaron Morgan (Katie) of Salem, and Noah Morgan (Sidney) of Jeffersonville, two step-sisters:  Amy Highfill of La Grange, Kentucky and Angela Robinson of Eminence, Kentucky.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents:  Herman and Louise Cox and paternal grandparents:  George Morgan and Alyce Gail Morgan-Baxter.

Gilbert was a selfless, caring person who lived life with such grace and full of life.  He was a lover of Golf, Mustang cars, spoiling his dog, “Diesel”, and living life to help others.  Gilbert put his best effort in everything he did, and always showed so much passion and love to those within his daily life.

Funeral services will be held at 12PM Saturday at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Kansas Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 4-8PM and Saturday from 9AM-time of service.
