Mr. Gary L. Smith age 67 of Salem passed away Sunday, May 25 at his home.
Mr. Smith was born June 27, 1946 in Washington County, Indiana the son of Royce and Estelle Applegate Smith. He was Assistant Librarian for the Washington County Historical Society. He was a member of Salem First Baptist Church, Washington County Historical Society, and American Legion. He served in the National Guard.
He is survived by his son: Jason Smith of Salem, two daughters: Cassandra Terry (Paul) of Mitchell and Hannah Smith of Salem, a brother: Jim W. Smith of Barborsville, West Virginia, a sister: Sherry Tabor of Salem, and two granddaughters: Miranda and Megan Terry of Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Steve Smith.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Cremation will follow and burial will be at a later date in Conway Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8PM and Thursday from 9AM-time of service.
