Freeman Lloyd Coats Jr.

Mr. Freeman Lloyd Coats, age 62, of Pekin, passed away Saturday, October 22 at his home.

Mr. Coats was born February 12, 1960, in Tampa, Florida the son of Freeman Lloyd Coats Sr. and Nancy Jean Hinds Coats.  He was a former employee of Breeding Painting.

Freeman is survived by his wife:  Shirley Washam Coats.  They were married September 1, 1990. He is also survived by five children:  Juanita Counts (Michael) of Florida, Steven Lloyd Coats (Jayme) of Salem, Jennifer Wynn (Mark) of Pekin, David Bird (Jessica) of Pekin, and John Bird of Pekin, two brothers:  Vincent Coats of Salem and James Coats of South Carolina, three sisters:  Mary Melendez of Salem, Donna Day of Salem, and Karen White of Georgia, grandchildren:  Daymean Punch, Emily  Coats, Dylahn Coats and Eli Wynn and 14 additional grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson:  Blake Coats.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1PM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Swayback Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday from 10AM-time of services.
