Frank "Buster" Crockett

Mr. Frank E. “Buster” Crockett age 92 of Pekin passed away Monday, October 13 at Robley Rex VAMC.

Mr. Crockett was born October 3, 1922 in Salem the son of Frank and Mattie Head Crockett.  He was a retired barber.   He was a member of Pekin First Baptist Church, New Providence Masonic Lodge #237, and International Order of Odd Fellows.  He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of American Legion #203, Disabled American Veterans and 14 th Armored Division Association.  He was a Kentucky Colonel and Distinguished Hoosier.

Mr. Crockett was preceded in death by his wife:  Helen Rose Bush Crockett in 1961 and by his dear friend:  Martha Berkey in 2008, three brothers:  Bob, Marion J. and Johnnie Crockett and his parents.

He is survived by two sons:  Frank R. Crockett (Millie) of Jeffersonville and Larry Michael Crockett (Sharon) of Salem, three daughters:  Carol Weatherholt (Jim) of Borden, Lynn Manship (Mark) of Salem and Leanne Helton (Wayne) of Louisville, two sisters:  Beulah Skinner and Bonnie Marshall both of Louisville, 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00AM at Pekin First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Goodwin officiating.  Burial will follow in Martinsburg Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8PM at Weathers Funeral Home and Thursday from 9:30AM-11:00AM at the church.
