Escline (Smith) Young

Mrs. Escline Young age 87 of Pekin passed away Saturday, March 1 at Salem Crossing.
Mrs. Young was born November 16, 1926 in Kentucky the daughter of Nelson and Mariah Hale Smith. She was a former employee of the old Charlestown Powder Plant and Bata Shoe Company. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband: James T. Young in 1996, 8 brothers, 5 sisters and her parents. She is survived by five sons: Leo E. Elrod (Diana) of Pekin, Denis E. Elrod (Rayna) of Salem, Dale S. Young (Connie) of Springfield, Tennessee, James T. Young Jr. of Bradford, Indiana and Robert A. Young (Nita) of Lebanon, Missouri, a brother: Clarence Smith of Barbourville, Kentucky, a sister: Lois Shular of Toledo, Ohio, 11 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8PM and Friday from 9AM-time of service.
