Mr. Elmer F. Hamilton, age 92, of Campbellsburg, passed away Thursday, September 26 at his home.
Mr. Hamilton was born January 27, 1927 in Washington County, Indiana the son of Glenn E. and Leota Nicholson Hamilton. He was a retired employee of B.F. Goodrich and Jean’s Extrusions. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church, Vintage Antique Pullers Association, Tri-County Tractor Pullers and Campbellsburg American Legion. He was a World War II Army veteran.
Elmer is survived by his wife: Shirley Gould Hamilton. They were married September 11, 1948. He is also survived by three sons: Frankie Hamilton (Sherry) of Salem, Brett Hamilton (Carmie) of Heltonville, and Patrick Hamilton (Kathy) of Campbellsburg, a daughter: Jan Shelton (Dave) of Borden, a sister: Dorothy Stephenson of Leesburg, Florida, 3 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother: Eugene Hamilton, a sister: Emily Jacobs, a grandson and his parents.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00AM at Mt. Carmel Christian Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8PM at Weathers Funeral Home and Tuesday from 10AM-time of service at the church.
