Elizabeth Sue (Prater) Scherzinger

Mrs. Elizabeth Sue Scherzinger, age 85, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, September 21 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Mrs. Scherzinger was born January 5, 1937, in Clifton, Tennessee the daughter of Olison Salone Prater and   Elvis Mae Conway Prater.  She was retired from GKN and a member of Salem (High Street) Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband:  Donald J. Scherzinger on February 16, 2006.  She was also preceded in death by a brother:   Connie H. Prater, two sisters:  Mae Walker and Lucy Northcutt, and her parents.

She is survived by two sons:  Donald Jerome Scherzinger (Gloria) of Madison, Alabama, and Charles Scherzinger (Ruth Ann) of Salem, a daughter:  Carmelita Burton (Robert) of Huntsville, Alabama, a brother:  Dennis Prater of Knoxville, Tennessee, three sisters:  Patricia Treece of Clifton, Tennessee, Margie Judd of Franklin, Tennessee, and Dorothy Embry of Poplar Grove, Illinois, six grandchildren:  Brea Anna Burton Sutton (Dustin), Chandra Lea Scherzinger, Shea Elizabeth Burton Swindle, Charlee Ann Scherzinger White (Travis), Maegan Joyce Scherzinger Doak (John), and Mallory Hope Scherzinger, and eleven great-grandchildren:  Jason Swindle Jr., Reagan Swindle, Isabelle Sutton, Emma Sutton, Adeline Sutton, Molly Doak, Isaac Doak, Emma Doak, Prater White, Madison White, and Tindal White.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 24 at 5PM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Saturday from 3:30PM-time of service Saturday.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery at a later date.
