Douglas Eugene Roney

Mr. Douglas Eugene Roney of Terre Haute, formerly of Salem, passed away Thursday, February 27 at Signature Health Care in Terre Haute.

Mr. Roney was born April 1, 1936 in Washington County, Indiana the son of George and Sarah Sparks Roney.  He was a retired mechanic for Happs Airport and Ooley Brothers Body Shop.  He was  an Army, Air Force and National Guard veteran.  He was a member of Blue River Masonic Lodge #457 in Fredericksburg, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife:  Judy Dare Bryant Roney of Terre Haute, two sons:  Thomas Roney of Orleans and Will Roney of Indianapolis, three daughters:  Deborah Roney of Terre Haute, Donna Roney and Vickie Garcia both of Lexington, Kentucky, two sisters:  Bea Adams of Salem and Creta Cliffton of Kentucky, 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers:  Roy, Louie, Noel Ray and Richard Roney, sisters:  Ruby Wright and Beulah Willis and Nellie Baker and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Tuesday from Noon-time of service. Burial will be at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.

The family would like to thank the staff at Signature Health Care for caring for Mr. Roney.
