Doris F (Applegate) Tyler

Mrs. Doris F. Tyler age 78 of Salem passed away Friday, May 9 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Tyler was born August 4, 1935 in Washington County, Indiana the daughter of Raymond and Ruth Nicholson Applegate. She was a member of Eastview Church of Christ. She was a retired cook for Eastern High School.
She married Lloyd B. Tyler on April 25, 1982 and he preceded her in death in 2010. She was also preceded in death by two daughters: Debbie Smith in 1972 and Diana Nicholson in 1991, a brother: Glen Applegate in 2011, a sister: Jean Kay in 2014 and her parents.
She is survived by two sons: Terry Smith (Diane E.) and Troy Smith (Melanie) both of Pekin, a daughter: Dana Pemberton (Alan) of Bedford, a brother: Lindell Applegate (Karen) of New Castle, Pennsylvania, three sisters: June Gray (Lowell) of Pekin, Mary Miller (Eugene) of Salem and Norma Collins (Stuart) of Sellersburg, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Martinsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8PM and Tuesday from 9AM-time of service.
