Doris J. Felker Pittman Mahuron

Doris J. Felker Pittman Mahuron, age 92, Pekin, died April 27, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born June 18, 1930, near Mifflin, IN, in Crawford Co., she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Crystal (Newton) Felker. She married Clifford L. Pittman, who preceded her in death, later she married Lloyd E. Mahuron who also preceded her in death. She was a member of Blue River Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Salem High School class of 1949. Had been a member of DAR, Pekin Home Makers and Eastern Star Chapter #588 of Borden, IN. She attended Dwyer Business College in Indianapolis, IN. She was a secretary at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis. She also was a Beautician, Certified Dental assistant, and Real Estate Broker. She as co-owner of Pittman Grocery-Furniture and a former East Washington School Board member (the first female member) and former New Pekin Clerk Treasurer.

She is survived by her daughter: Carol Pittman of Brandenburg, KY, a son: David Pittman (Teresa) of Pekin, IN , a step-daughter: Robin Bishop of Pekin, IN, a step-son Roger (Marilyn) Mahuron of Frankfort, KY. Granddaughters: Crystal (Scot) Crowder of Jeffersonville, IN, Jennifer Lee, Becky Simpson (Paul Smith), and Amber (Darren) Hurst all of Pekin, Renee (Todd) Morphis of Palmyra, Jackie (Josh) Rains of Payneville, KY, a grandson: Josh Smith (Audrey Ribken) of Payneville, KY, a step-granddaughter: Deana (Aaroyn) Bagshaw, step-grandsons: Michael (Jackie) Trueblood of Salem, Billy (Brittany) Cody of Lanesville, James Mahuron and Ronald Mahuron both of Frankfort, KY. Great-grandchildren: Brandon Lee (Shelby Voyles), Megan Lee, Johnathan Simpson, Hayley Hurst, Archer Hurst all of Pekin, Katie Morphis and Ian Morphis of Palmyra, Lindsey Rains and Lucy Rains of Payneville, KY, Brayden Smith of Payneville,KY, and Morgan Crowder of Jeffersonville, IN, step- great-grandsons: Caleb (Ashley) Trueblood of Campbellsburg, Ethan (Shea) Trueblood, Zac Trueblood, and Lane Trueblood all of Salem, IN, and Wayne Cody and Boone Cody both of Lanesville, IN. Great-Great-Granddaughter: Dolly Lee of Pekin. Step-Great-Great-Grandsons: Hayden Trueblood and Reagan Trueblood of Campbellsburg. Step-Great-Great-Great-Granddaughters: Nellie Trueblood and Vada Trueblood, a sister: Helen Nelson of Salem, and a brother: John Felker of Lagrange, KY.

She is preceded in death by her father and step-mother: Leroy and Jessie Felker, mother: Crystal (Newton) Felker, husbands: Clifford Pittman of 50 years, and Lloyd Mahuron of 17 years, two great-grandsons: Luke Simpson and Jake Simpson, sister: Sandy (Felker) Huff, a nephew: Richie Huff, and a step-son-in-law: Dennis Bishop.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM Monday at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9AM-until time of service.
