Mr. Donald Warren Mantooth age 86 of Salem passed away Monday, February 13 at St. Vincent Hosptial in Salem.
Mr. Mantooth was born April 22, 1925 in Salem the son of Cecil and Mary Elliott Mantooth. He was a retired employee of Eastern Airlines. He published his own paper named the "Mantooth Report". He was a staunch supporter of the american way of life and a freedom fighter. He ran for Governor and House of Representatives. He was state chairman of the American Party and chariman for George C. Wallace for President. He was a licensed Private Detective. He attended New Covenant Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years: Martha Garland Mantooth, two daughters: Donna Mantooth Ray of Lawrence, Indiana and Pam Mantooth Munro of Scotland, a sister: Juanita Hoskins of Columbus, 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son: Samuel Mantooth, a brother: Randall Mantooth and his parents.
