David "Twinkie" L. Griffitts

David L. “Twinkie” Griffitts, age 52, of Salem passed away Thursday, October 7.

David was born February 23, 1969, in Salem the son of Robert Griffitts and Mary Lou Florence Griffitts.  He was a member of Salem Moose Lodge, American Legion, and Salem Eagles.  He was a past officer for Abate of Indiana, Region 9.  He worked as a truck driver for 31 years.

David is survived by his wife of 26 years:  Tonya Ledford Griffitts, his son:  Dylan Griffitts (Miranda) of Salem, grandsons:  Hendrix Griffitts and Wyatt Prater, granddaughter:  Paisley Prater, his brother:  Denny Griffitts (Vicky) of Salem, 4 nephews and 2 nieces.  He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother:  Darrell Griffitts, and aunt:  Ethel Ragains Anderson.

Twinkie never met a stranger and would strike up conversation with anyone.  He loved riding his Harleys.  He loved drag racing and racing his Mustang.  If you met him on the road in passing you most likely would get the two finger Twinkie wave.  He had a laugh like no other and loved being with friends and family to just hang out and have a good time.

Following David’s wishes, cremation was chosen and no formal services will be held.
