Mr. David A. Walton age 73 of Salem passed away Wednesday, January 7 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Walton was born January 15, 1941 in Washington County, Indiana the son of Arthur and Magel Johns Walton. He was a City of Salem employee. He was a former bus driver for Salem Schools and owned Walton’s Texaco Station. He was a member of Smedley Church of Christ and National Guard.
David married Freda Martin on September 1, 1963, and she survives. He is also survived by three sons: James Walton (Rhonda), Joe Walton and Jerry Walton (Michele) all of Salem, a daughter: Jana Elliott of Salem, his mother: Magel Walton of Salem, four brothers: his twin, Donald Walton of Salem, Ronald Walton of Salem, John Walton of Sellersburg and Dan Walton of New Albany, three sisters: Roseanna Roberts, Sharon Robinson and Nancy Walton all of Salem, three granddaughters, three grandsons, 1 great-granddaughter and 1 great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his father: Arthur Walton.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8PM and Saturday from 9Am-time of service.
