David Thomas Harding

Mr. David Thomas “Tom” Harding age 76 of Salem passed away Friday, February 13 at St. Vincent Hospital in Salem.

Mr. Harding was born March 23, 1938 in Moultrie County, Illinois the son of Jacob B. and Viola Anna Phipps Harding.  He was self-employed, first as co-owner of The Rug Shop and Decorating Center in Lafayette and then as co-owner of Shadeland Mobile Home Park in Lafayette and West Lawn Village Mobile Home Park in West Lafayette.  He was a member of Board of Directors of the Indiana Manufactured Housing Association and Local Chapter President in Lafayette.  He was also a Certified Water Treatment Operator.  He was an Army veteran.

Tom is survived by his wife:  Martha Frances Smith Harding.  They were married December 19, 1959.  He is also survived by his son:  William Joseph Harding of Salem, 4 nieces, 3 great-nieces and 3 great-nephews.  He was preceded in death by a sister:  Ann Malloy and his parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, near Bloomfield.  Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8PM and Friday from 9Am-time of service.
