Charles W Hamilton

Mr. Charles W. Hamilton age 85 of Salem passed away Saturday, February 18 at 2:26AM at the home of his caregiver, Jerry Hendricks.

Mr. Hamilton was born June 6, 1926 in Orange County, Indiana the son of Bryan Klondike and Edna Moore Hamilton.  He served as County Recorder for 8 years and was a farmer and a truck driver.  He was a member and elder of Westview Christian Church. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of American Legion and VFW and Washington County Fish and Game Club.

He is survived by his wife:  Evelynn Jacobs Hamilton.  They were married October 23, 1948.  He is also survived by two sons:  Charles Hamilton of Pekin and Michael Scott Hamilton of Salem, a daughter:  Debra A. Drake of Brownstown, two brothers:  Robert Hamilton of Omaha, Nebraska and Howard Hamilton of Salem, two sisters:  Betty Jones of Orleans and Martha Catlin of Campbellsburg, 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a son:  Gary William Hamilton, a daughter:  Brenda L. Theiring, a brother:  Franklin Hamilton, a sister:  Mary Colglazier and his parents.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors.
