Mr. Charles Gene Carter, age 81, of Salem, passed away Monday, January 9 at University of Louisville Hospital.
Mr. Carter was born February 19, 1941 in Beloit, Wisconsin the son of Allen Carter and Lydia Kincaid Carter. He was retired from Neff Family Fertilizer, and was a former employee of Helsels in Campbellsburg for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife: Annita Smith Carter they were married June 28, 1964. He is also survived by two sons: Brian Carter and Bradley Carter both of Salem, a daughter: Tina Dean of Salem, two brothers: Richard Carter of Oklahoma and Steve Carter of Kentucky, two grandchildren: Joshua Carter, Justina Bierly, and five great-grandchildren: Brennan Collins, Myles Tatlock, Thatcher Tatlock, Kaelynn Carter, and Amelia Carter.
Charles is preceded in death by a brother: Jack Carter, three sisters: Mary Graves, Peggy Mitchell, and Cathy Harper, and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM Friday, January 13 at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 10AM-until time of service at the funeral home.
