Mrs. Carolyn Hiser, age 89, of Pekin, passed away Saturday, February 24 at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Hiser was born November 15, 1934 in Salem the daughter of Guy Victor Green and Maybel Heaster Green. Her parents were the founders and owners of Green Banner Publications, where Carolyn worked from her youth until retirement. She was a member of Pekin First Baptist Church, where she especially enjoyed going on mission trips with the church to Jamacia. Carolyn was also an avid lover of IU, nature, parks, animals, and her church family. 

She is survived by two sons: David Cole (Diane) of Pekin, and Mike Cole (Marie) of Canton, OH, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and friends. 

She is preceded in death by a brother: Robert Green, three sisters: Louise Green, Laure Jane True, and Donna Anderson, and her parents. 

Funeral services will be held at 11AM Saturday at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cole Hollow Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 4-7PM and Saturday from 10AM-until time of service.
