Carol Lee (King) Chenier

December 8, 1937 — December 31, 2021

Clinton, Missouri

Carol Lee King Chenier, age 84, of Clinton, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021, at Belton Regional Hospital surrounded by her family.

Carol was born December 8, 1937, in Salem, Indiana the daughter of Kenneth and Frances Miller King.  After graduating high school, she went to work in the service industry.  Carol worked as an Airline Hostess, waitress, and cafeteria worker.  She married Daniel Chenier on May 28, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois.  They welcomed three children to this union:  Christopher Mark, Michael Louis, and Antionette Marie.

Due to Dan being a salesman, they lived in several places in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Missouri before settling down for several years in Lawson, Missouri.  No matter where they lived, Carol made many friends, and was loved by all.  As her children grew, many of their friends would think of her as a “2nd Mom”.  After her children were grown, Carol and Dan moved to Warsaw, Missouri where they lived for several years.  After her husband’s passing in 2004, Carol continued to live in Warsaw to be an integral part of many groups and clubs including the Lincoln Church of Christ, the Warsaw Elks Lodge, the Dam Painters, and Benton County Hospice volunteer.

In July of 2015, Carol moved to Clinton, Missouri to be closer to her children and grandchildren, where once again she became involved in many new groups such as Designing Gardeners Club, while still attending all her previous commitments.

Carol loved her Lord first of all and shared her faith freely.  She loved her family, friends, (and really all she met), with a passion only a Child of God can show.  She loved her cats and her horses and had the greenest thumb.

Survivors include two children, a son:   Christopher (Karen) Chenier and a daughter:  Antoinette (Barry) Bullock, five grandchildren:  Jeremy McCannon, Jami (Junior) Langdon, Zack (Kim) McCannon, Joshua Bullock, and Caleb (Candice) Bullock, and eight great-grandchildren:  Max McCannon, Violet McCannon, Ghavin Lumen, Wyli Love, Winfield McCannon, Leo McCannon, Audrey Bullock and Avery Bullock.  Also surviving are three siblings, sister:  Mary Burns and two brothers:  Kenneth King Jr. and William King; also, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Preceding Carol in death are her parents, her husband, son:  Michael Chenier, sister:  Dorothy June Walton, and brother:  John King.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 5 at 2PM at Fort Hill Church of Christ.  Burial will be at Mill Creek Cemetery with her family.
