Betty A (Wheeler) Cook

March 23, 1949 — February 25, 2014

Mrs. Betty A. Cook age 64 of Salem passed away Tuesday, February 25 at her home.

Mrs. Cook was born March 23, 1949 in Washington County, Indiana the daughter of Hendrix and Mable Head Wheeler.  She was a retired employee of Washington County Memorial Hospital.  She worked at the hospital for 36 years, first as a Nurse’s Aide and later in the Laundry Department.  She was a member of the Nazarene Church.

She is survived by her husband:  Jackie Cook.  They were married October 15, 1971.  She is also survived by two sons:  Jackie Duane Cook (Stephanie) and Marc “Tony” Cook both of Salem, two brothers:  Harold and Wayne Wheeler both of Vallonia, a sister:  Sharon Gibbons of Salem, and 2 grandsons:  Dylan Hogan and Brandon Dwayne Cook.  She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers:  Joe and Gene Wheeler.

A graveside service will be held Friday, March 14 at 10:00AM at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Pekin.
