Betty Dean Baughman, 95, of Shelburn, Indiana, passed away on December 11, 2023. She was born on February 8, 1928, in Shelburn, IN, to Otto and Deloras Hauger. Betty was a beloved woman of many talents, whose presence brought joy and love to all who knew her.

Betty's passion for music was a source of inspiration for those around her.Her tap dancing, piano playing, and harmonica melodies captivated audiences, while her voice, filled with emotion and grace, resonated with the hearts of listeners. She was a dedicated member of her church choir, where her yodeling and hymns uplifted the spirits of all who heard them. Betty's artistic abilities extended beyond music, as she crafted beautiful creations that showcased her creativity and generosity.

Family held a special place in Betty's heart. She is survived by her sister, Charlotte Black, and her five children and their families. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Howard LeRoy Baughman, her parents, Otto and Deloras (Johnson) Hauger, and brother, Edward Gene Hauger.

Betty found solace and strength in her faith, and she was a devoted member of the Shelburn Baptist Church. Her unwavering belief in God guided her throughout her life, providing her with comfort and a sense of purpose.

In her leisure time, Betty enjoyed singing, crocheting, playing harmonica and piano, and even embraced the whimsical persona of "Rhinestone the Clown." She found joy in roller skating and cherished the timeless melodies of Elvis, which filled her days with nostalgia and happiness.

A memorial and graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 1:30 P.M., at the West Lawn Cemetery in Farmersburg, IN.

Betty Dean Baughman will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, talent, and faith will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who mourn her loss.
