Bertine Verna (Hawkins) Bridgewater

Mrs. Bertine Verna Bridgewater age 92 of Orleans passed away Wednesday, March 29 at Salem Crossing.
Mrs. Bridgewater was born January 17, 1925 in Paoli, Indiana the daughter of Bert Hawkins and Dessie Stout Hawkins. She was a former employee of Traveler’s and retired from the office of Mitchell High School. She was a member of Livonia Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star in Paoli.
Bertine was preceded in death by her husband: Laverne Bridgewater. She was also preceded in death by a brother: Arel B. Hawkins and her parents.
She is survived by her son: Rod Stone (Dawn Sebion) of Versailles, Missouri, two step-daughters: Debra Enochs (Jim) of Salem and Cathy Bowers (Ron) of Orleans, a sister: Frances Baker of Indianapolis, 2 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00AM at Livonia Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Livonia Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4-7PM at Weathers Funeral Home and Saturday from 10AM-time of service.
