Bernard Verl Chastain

Mr. Bernard Verl Chastain age 91 of Campbellsburg passed away Thursday, April 7 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Mr. Chastain was born June 16, 1924 in Benton County, Indiana the son of Ivis Verl and Ophelia Lois Johns Chastain.  He was employed first as a carpenter and helped to build the Grissom Memorial, he then went on to retire from both B.F. Goodrich and the Farm Service Agency.  He was a member of Mitchell Church of Christ.

Bernard is survived by his wife:  Ramona Sue Sabens Chastain.  They were married August 31, 1979.  He is also survived by two sons:  Edwin Chastain and Gary Chastain (Linda) both of Campbellsburg, a daughter:  Rhonda Chastain of Campbellsburg, a step-son:  Chad McClure (Debbie) of Salem, three step-daughters:  Debra Dean of Scottsburg, Dana Green (Danny) of Salem and Deana Bagshaw (Aaroyn) of Campbellsburg, 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his sister:  Betty Myers and his parents.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday from 3-8PM and Monday from 9AM-time of service.
