Ben R Jackson

Ben R. Jackson Sr. died suddently on December 23, 2012.  Born in Bedford, Indiana, he attended Shawswick school, graduating in 1967 from Carmel High School where he enjoyed playing basketball.  He attended Indiana State University.  He is survived by his wife:  Laurie (Hurst) Jackson, and his children, Benny, Tracy and Amanda Jackson, along with their mother:  Sheila Lyon and granddaughter:  Jessica Jackson.  He is also survived by brothers and sisters:  Sandra, Russ, Tom, Peggy, Vickie, Billie Jo, Gary, Steven, and Debbie.  He was preceded in death by his sister:  Marcia, brother:  Larry, mother:  Julia, and father:  Russel.  Ben worked for 17 years for Dave McIntire Chevrolet; since that time, he became an independent broker.  Upon retirement Ben and Laurie moved to Salem as he wanted to enjoy the wildlife and nature he loved as a child.  He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and the Salem Lions Club.  Ben was a man who loved life and lived it to the fullest.  He loved his family and friends dearly.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors and playing with his dogs, Sadie and Sammie.  He will be greatly missed,

Visitation will be Friday, December 28 from 4-8PM, funeral will be Saturday, December 29 at 2PM with visitation from 12-2PM at Weathers Funeral Home.
