Mrs. Barbara Edith Curry, age 84, of Salem, passed away Monday, July 29 at her home.
Mrs. Curry was born December 24, 1934 in Washington County, the daughter of Melvin Elmer Nice and Edith Kellams Nice. She was retired from Salem High School Cafeteria and was Business Manager for Montgomery Ward Store. She was a member of Livonia Baptist Church and was a volunteer and former board member for C.A.R.E. Pregnancy Center.
Barbara is survived by her husband: Finis Curry. They were married March 27, 1955. She is also survived by one son: Barry Dean Curry of St. Matthews, Kentucky, three daughters: Pamela Kay Martin (Wayne) of Wylie, Texas, Melva Jean Draper (H.V. “Billy”, III), and Brenda Demlow-June (James David June Jr.) of Greenwood, Indiana, a brother: Kenneth Nice of Salem, 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Thomas Leon Nice and Donald Nice, and an infant brother, and a sister: Carolyn Hauger.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00PM at Livonia Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Livonia Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8PM at Weathers Funeral Home and Friday from 1-2PM at the church.
