Mrs. Anna Mae Nicholson age 75 of Salem passed away Sunday, February 24, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Mrs. Nicholson was born January 6, 1944 in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky the daughter of Casper and Martha Robbins Sowder. She was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Salem. She was a foster parent for the National Youth Advocate Program for over 10 years, in which she and her husband fostered several children.
Anna is survived by her husband: Larry Nicholson, they were married January 13, 1962. She is also survived by her son: Dawayne Nicholson (Pat) of Salem, daughters: Annetta Rosenberg (Dave) of Salem, Nicole Combs of Jeffersonville, Heather Nicholson of Scottsburg, and Karen Nicholson of Paoli, 5 grandchildren: Bradley, Brittany, Keegan, Gavin and Paisley, 3 great-grandchildren: Gwendolyn, Elaina, and Martin, a foster child: Angel and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her brothers: Denver Sowder, Lester Sowder, Walter Sowder, Keith Sowder, Russell Sowder, Charles Sowder, Albert Sowder, Vearl Sowder, Chester Ray Sowder, and Howard Sowder, a sister: Linda Jones, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Winslow Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00-8:00P.M. and Thursday from 9AM-until time of service.
