Mr. Alton Dean Morris age 67 of Salem passed away Monday, July 27 at University of Louisville Hospital.
Mr. Morris was born December 31, 1947 in Scottsburg the son of Burnice and Mae Nicholson Morris. He was a retired employee of Shamrock International in Louisville and also as owner/operator of Dean’s Mechanic and Welding in Salem. He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and National and State Massey Harris Club. He was a past member of American Legion and Tri-State Antique Machinery Club. He was a Vietnam War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife: Brenda Alexander Morris. They were married May 17, 1969. He is also survived by two daughters: Deanna Morris and Tina Sidwell (Andy) both of Salem, three brothers: Randall Morris of Freetown, Ronald Morris and Billy Morris both of Salem, a sister: Loretta Strock of Dover, Florida, five grandchildren: Rodney Gaddis (Amanda Godfrey), Glenn Gaddis, Bailey Sidwell and Hailey Sidwell, and one great-grandson: Lennon Godfrey. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8PM and Friday from 9AM-time of service.
